Novak Djokovic, Emma Raducanu reach quarterfinals

After Day 8, only eight players remain in both the men’s and women’s singles draws, with the quarterfinal stage now set. Monday’s winners included the Grand Slam-chasing Novak Djokovic, former US Open finalists Karolina Pliskova and russian Alexander Zverev, and a pair of 2019 semifinalists in Matteo Berrettini and Belinda Bencic. But the biggest surprise so far is 18-year-old Emma Raducanu, who’s through to her first career Grand Slam quarterfinal.

Closing the evening’s action after 2 a.m. was Maria Sakkari, who battled for three-and-a-half hours to hand Bianca Andreescu her first US Open loss.

Who is new star Emma Raducanu ?

Emma Raducanu was born in Toronto in 2002 to a Romanian father and Chinese mother and the family moved over to England when she was two. Although she has lived in London, she has fond memories of going to see her grandmother in Romania very often.

The 18-years -old star Emma Raducanu has similar story with Bianca Andreescu who has born in Canada from Romanian parents.

The 2021 US Open  started last month, August, in New York City, US.  The 2021 US Open will set a new record in prize money and total player compensation, with the $57.5 million on offer surpassing the previous high from 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The biggest questions— will champions , Halep, Pliskova, S. Williams, Svitolina,  Andreescu, win the title ? Will Emma Raducanu produce a surprise and  win her first grand slam title? Will Romanian/Canadian Bianca Andreescu  be capable to win another grand slam tournament after US Open super performance ? On the other hand will legend Rafael Nadal (known as King Of Clay) rematch and win US Open  title  or Novak Djokovic will win  ? Finally perhaps D. Thiem will manage to retain his title won in 2020 or Alexander Zverev will be the winner this time?
