Romania hit four goals without conceding at least one against Malta at the National Stadium Ta Qali Attard.

Encouraged by their approx. 10000 lovely supporters, Malta started very good and brave the game against Romania.
Head coach Ray Farrugia opted for a change in his team tactical module as he switched from a 5-3-2 formation to 4-2-3-1.
Malta had great chances to equalize few times, however, Mbong and Effiong lost great opportunities.
Malta started the campaign on a high as they managed to secure a 2-1 win over Faroe Islands. However, they were beaten 2-0 by Spain few days later.
They came after a 0-3 away over Sweden in when Quaison, Claesson and Isak scored the three goals.
