Romania  hit four goals without conceding at least one against Malta at the National Stadium Ta Qali Attard.

Head coach Cosmin Contra  started this game with 5 players U 21: Ianis Hagi (the son of Super star Gheorghe Hagi), Puscas, Nedelcearu, Baluta and Marin.

The manager  also gave opportunity to young talented player Denis Man and he added a fourth goal  to complete an undoubted victory.

Furthermore, Contra is also preparing to play with more young players such as  Alexandru Cicâldău, Denis Dragus, Radu, Manea, Andrei Ivan, Florinel Coman, A Petre, etc.

This was an important victory that lifted them to second-place in the standings on seven points, level with Sweden.

Also an important factor that contributed to this awesome victory are the amazing Romanian fans that were singing all the time.

The role of the 12^th man (approx. 2500 Romanian fans were present in Malta) was very valuable.

Encouraged by their approx. 10000 lovely supporters, Malta started very good and brave the game against Romania.

Head coach Ray Farrugia  opted for a change in his team tactical module as he switched from a 5-3-2 formation to 4-2-3-1.

Malta had great chances to equalize few times, however,  Mbong  and Effiong  lost great opportunities.

Malta started the campaign on a high as they managed to secure a 2-1 win over Faroe Islands. However, they were beaten 2-0 by Spain few days later.

They came after a  0-3 away over Sweden in  when  Quaison, Claesson and Isak scored the three goals.
